I have been using Goodwinol ointment on my 8 year old Corgi who has developed pododermatitis from dematectic mange. I tried multiple other treatments without success. (My corgi is very sensitive to ivermectin, so using it is not an option.) Everything we tried was a disappointing failure until the Goodwinol ointment. We have used it daily for 60 days and she is completely clear of any inflammation and no mites have been seen with a skin scraping. It can be messy to use, so we put it on her outside. I would suggest that anyone interested in using it purchase the one pound jar instead since you do have to use for an extended period of time. (The lanolin in it really makes my hands soft after applying it!) After a year of disappointments, this product has saved my Corgi's feet, my sanity and since it so reasonably priced, my pocket book!

One of our dogs was born with demodectic mange probably passed on to him by his mother. Most dogs have an immune system that fight it off. Our little guy didn't. His immune system will improve as he ages, probably by 1 1/2 to 2 years of age however because he has demodectic mange, it must be treated. We went with Goodwinol as recommended by his Vet instead of oral medication that could have serious side effects. We apply Goodwinol ointment to his spots each day after he eats. Most spots disappear after a few days. The larger areas may take a week or so of treatment. This stuff works eases the itch. Entirely Pets has a good price delivers quickly.
